New Patient Information
Facial aesthetics is a confusing world and there's a lot of conflicting information posted on social media. For Australian patients, understanding what cosmetic clinics offer and what to expect has become increasingly difficult because of strict advertising laws now in place. Practitioners and clinics are banned from:
-
Advertising the brand names of any products that might be used
-
Advertising the pricing of any treatments that may be offered
-
Explicitly discussing treatment techniques or referencing specific areas of the face that might be treated
-
Displaying before & after images of what to expect from an average injectable treatment
New patients therefore can feel uninformed, anxious about what to expect and most importantly, not know who trust to book in for a consultation with Nurse Shaniese understands all of this and will take time to educate you during your consultation.
What Nurse Shaniese Doesn't Treat
To avoid booking for the wrong consultation, Nurse Shaniese doesn't offer any of the following services:
-
Treatments for anyone under 18 years old (and in most cases anyone under 21 years old)
-
Treatments for medical skin conditions (i.e, melasma, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancers, etc)
-
Treatments that utilise HIFU, Laser Hair Removal, IPL or RF micro needling
-
Threads - both the lifting threads and the PDO short threads
-
Non Surgical Rhinoplasty
-
Any surgical treatments
What Happens in a New Patient Consultation
New patient consultations are 60 minutes (regardless of what you think you might want or need)
-
Your medical history will first be assessed in detail to ensure your suitability for any planned procedures*.
-
Adequate time for you and Nurse Shaniese to get to know each other and to establish your motivations.
-
All of your questions will be answered before committing to any sort of treatment plan so that you feel fully informed.
-
A full set of high resolution clinical photos will be taken of you. Nurse Shaniese will use these to examine your face, to educate you about your own features and skin, what your anatomy says about your aging and to create a bespoke plan for you.
-
If you're an appropriate candidate, medically-suitable and time allows, an initial treatment on the day may be offered (likely as part of a series of future treatments).
