Frequently Asked Questions

Does LED Light Therapy Hurt? No. While there may be uncommon cases of mild discomfort, LED Light Therapy is a non-invasive technique that does not hurt when administered. In fact, many find the process quite relaxing.

What Do The Different Light Colours Do? LED lights treatment works by exposing the skin to certain coloured LED lights in order to achieve certain benefits. Blue light LED treatment targets acne and congested skin in order to kill bacteria and calm acne breakouts, making this the best LED treatment for acne. Red light LED skin treatment is used to rejuvenate the skin and stimulate hair growth, while yellow LED light facial treatment can target wrinkles, scars and inflammation. In an initial consultation at our clinic, we can assess your skin and recommend the most suitable light colour for your LED face treatment.

Is There Any Downtime? If you’re using the LED Light Therapy treatment alone, there will be no downtime required at all. Your next session could be performed during your lunch break and your workplace would be none the wiser. However, if you’re using it in conjunction with another treatment, there may be downtime required in association with your other treatments. However, our clinicians will discuss this further with you during your consultation.

How Many Treatments Will I Need? After a comprehensive consultation with our clinicians, we’ll assess your skin and tailor the perfect program to achieve your treatment goals. This will allow us to determine the amount of treatment sessions you’ll need. LED Light Therapy is most commonly administered twice a week over a period of time.

When Will I See Results? While all skin is different and may experience varied results, the effects of LED Light Therapy are more likely to be noticed shortly after your treatment. If you’re coupling this treatment with a more intensive treatment like Skin Needling or Laser Therapy, the results may take a little longer to become noticeable.

Can I Apply Makeup, Creams or Lotions Afterwards? While LED Light Therapy is designed to rejuvenate and heal the skin, it’s important to administer the right aftercare to your skin post treatment. This will include avoiding sun exposure as well as applying skincare that is gentle and assistive. Our clinics offer a wide range of specialised skincare products designed to address deep seated skin concerns. Our specialists are ready and able to assist with your questions about the right post treatment aftercare with industry leading products that’ll keep your skin on the track.

Pre & Post Treatment Care

Pre Treatment

In order to get the most out of your treatment as well as avoid over-sensitivity, we advise our clients to avoid direct exposure to sunlight at least 24 hours prior to your treatment. We also advise avoiding medication that may cause skin sensitivity.

Post Treatment

Whether used alone or concurrently with another skin treatment, be sure to apply SPF+ to your skin post treatment or wear a hat to keep your skin protected from UV rays. We also recommend applying a topical healing lotion from our collection of skincare products.
