Injectable Volumisation
Volumisation is a popular cosmetic treatment that can help to plump and rejuvenate the skin. As we age, our skin naturally loses volume, which can lead to wrinkles, sagging and a loss of definition in the face. Fillers can help to combat these signs of ageing by adding or restoring lost volume and giving the skin a more youthful appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who Is It Suitable For?  HA Filler products are suitable for all skin types 1 – 6 and are an affordable way to instantly restore volume and rejuvenate your face with natural-looking results.
What Is The Difference Between Volumisation & Muscle Relaxants? An easy way to remember the difference between the treatments is to think of ‘fillers’ as injectable treatments that ‘add’ structure and volume to areas such as the cheeks, chin and lips, while muscle relaxants or "wrinkle treatments" aim to ‘reduce’ wrinkles by relaxing and softening the muscle to smooth the appearance of the skin.
Does It Hurt? There’s no need to be nervous: discomfort is typically minimal and brief. We may use a local anaesthetic when required, depending on the area being treated.
How Many Treatments Is Best? Fillers can last anywhere from 3 months to several years, after which the treatment can be repeated. We will educate you on the expected longevity of your treatment during your consultation.
What Can I Expect After? You may experience some temporary side effects around the treatment area. The most common side effects include bruising, redness, swelling, pain and itching. Redness and swelling may last up to 24 hours, and some clients may experience bruising for up to 7 days, particularly around the mouth. We will educate you on post-treatment expectations during your complimentary consultation.
Risks and Potential Side Effects? The most common side effects of cosmetic injectables are transient bruising, swelling and tenderness. These side effects can generally be managed with your provided aftercare steps and should subside within the first few days after treatment. However, bruising may last two to three weeks. A thorough consultation before treatment will ensure you are aware of any additional risks and side effects. However, the general complications of fillers include persistent swelling, redness, bleeding (from the injection site), muscle weakness, infection, allergic reaction, asymmetrical or lumpy results, and scarring. You will be given the opportunity to discuss the consent process and have any questions answered before making an informed consent to any treatment for your safety. We will always do our best to minimise your chances of experiencing complications after treatment. To help to minimise your risks of treatment with cosmetic injectables, be sure to adhere to your preparation and aftercare instructions. Quitting smoking and avoiding taking any blood-thinning medications are essential before and after steps to promote sufficient healing, reducing the chance of most of the above side effects.
How Long Between Treatments? The length of time your treatment will last depends on the type of Filler and the area being treated. Some Fillers can last for 6 – 12 months, while others can last years.
Preparing For Treatment. Once your lifestyle and health factors have been discussed during your consultation, you may be given instructions to follow to prepare for your treatment. This may include stopping certain medications that can hinder the healing process after treatment or avoiding any usual activities that may be part of your typical routine. Before getting treatment with fillers, you should avoid hair removal treatments for at least two days and avoid alcohol for 24 hours. You may also like to avoid salty foods and be sure to stay hydrated for a few days before the procedure. Lifestyle habits such as smoking and health factors such as taking blood-thinning medications may need to be managed before treatment.

No blood-thinning medications, including aspirin and Ibuprofen (unless prescribed by your medical practitioner).
-
Come to your appointment with clean skin free of makeup, skincare is fine including SPF.
-
Avoid excessive exercise or strenuous activities on the day of your appointment.
-

Post Treatment Care
-
Immediately after treatment, you may experience some slight redness, swelling, tenderness or an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a typical result of the injection and generally disappears in a few days. If symptoms persist or other reactions occur, please get in touch with your physician.
-
Immediately after treatment: Remember to keep the treated area clean. You may take over-the-counter pain medications or an antihistamine if you have swelling or the treated area feels tender.
-
After fillers, you should avoid strenuous exercise and excessive heat exposure for 24 hours. You should also avoid applying excessive pressure on the treated areas for the first few nights. To avoid putting too much pressure on the treated areas with face fillers, you may wish to try and sleep on your back, if possible. Although you will need to avoid applying pressure to the treated area, you may very gently apply a cold compress to help to reduce swelling or discomfort.
-
To promote sufficient healing, you must avoid undergoing additional skin treatments in the treated area, such as waxing, peels or facials, laser and microdermabrasion. Lasers particularly should be avoided for at least six weeks. You may discuss time between other procedures with your cosmetic practitioner.
